Have you ever noticed that in movies and television there are (at least) two things that are really not normal, but are consistent?

These two things are:

  1. People never say “good bye” when ending a phone call
  2. People ask questions, and the person being asked never answers

That would be really irritating in real life…..

I was looking in the channel guide tonight to find out the name of the band on SNL but I couldn’t find it

But I do know one thing after watching and listening to them. If you take acid in 2013 and you have a band, you end up with the same crap you did when that’s what you did to create music in 1970. Except back then, at least the bands were able to last a while due to their inherent talent.

The purpose of the government is supposed to relay the will of the American public in its legislation.

The President however, has laid a couple of NEW things on the table.

First, he said he could bomb Syria without Congressional approval. Of course, then he actually asked for Congressional approval.
Secondly, he mentioned that the Congress was supposed to (as I said above) relay the will of the people. He said that, even if the people do NOT want to attack Syria, each congressman should then search his own soul, so to speak, and to vote what each one feels should happen.

In other words, he said, even if the people don’t want it, if any particular congressman thinks it’s the right thing to do, he should vote FOR the attack.

Again, as I asked in the subject line, “What Has Happened to the Purpose of the Government?”

Tell everyone you know – – SOS!! STAY OUT OF SYRIA!!
We MUST realize the blowback this will cause.

I realize what’s happening over there is atrocious. However, there’s too many different factions over there and we will be opening a can of worms that makes Iraq look like Disneyland

That’s all I have to say

I’m about to do an upgrade. I’ve had an HTC Evo and it was fine for a while, but now that it’s old, it’s been giving both of us tons of problems.

I’m looking at getting us 2 new LB Optimus G phones and I’d really appreciate your input on your experience – battery life, video/camera, ease of use, etc.

As I was watching the ‘History of the Eagles’ tonight, I was wondering how much time they would give to an early cover band Don Henley played with called ‘Felicity’.

I first heard them at a teenage ‘night club’, as it were, in Dallas, off the Northwest Hwy and Preston area called the ‘Studio Club’. Being a teenager, I frequented this place on the weekends quite a lot. It was THE place to bring a date. And I brought many dates there.

But there was one band that intrigued me from the very first time I heard them. I was a musician also, and when I heard how solid – how tight they were as a band, I wanted to be in a band like that. The high school bands I’d been in were not really even close to that, but I wanted it badly. I didn’t care where I was or whether I had a date for the weekend or not. If I knew Felicity was playing there, I would drop anything (which quickly became less important) and found a date so I could experience the music.

Now, all I really remember besides that was the blond singer/keyboard player and the drummer. He had a big (to me) afro (especially since he was white) I remember 2 particular songs. He sang Born to Be Wild and to me, sounded exactly like John Kay. The other song was by a guy no one in Dallas had heard of – James Taylor. The song was ‘Don’t Talk Now’. I thought it was a great song at the time and searched everywhere until I was able to by the record.

Little did I know at the time the fame and greatness that would come from that drummer to be the Don Henley we now all know.

In my opinion, since nidal hasan started out his opening statements to include the one in the subject, I think we should just shut the whole thing down and go to the sentencing phase.

There’s no use in him being able to cross examine the living victims and witnesses. We know why he did it and we know that it was an act of terrorism.

We carry out drone strikes on people who have planned things like this – he’s done it. There are only 2 possibilities. He either gets death, which is what he probably wants to become a martyr and life in prison – WITHOUT parole. He’s a hateful man carrying out hateful actions. This is not ‘workplace violence’. It’s terrorism.

They should take the pay he’s still getting and divide it up between the victims. I can’t believe we’re still paying him.

footnote: being shaven was good enough for his entire time in the service. Why was he allowed after weeks of time-wasting testimony to grow it back for religious reasons?

There is one flaw in the phrase in the subject. Those who carried signs with the phrase only meant one thing – Zimmerman needed to be convicted.

They didn’t want Justice for Trayvon and they didn’t want Justice at all. They were just mad ad George Zimmerman.
You can’t say you want justice for only one person because you only have one certain outcome in mind.

Justice is justice and that’s all.

It’s a terrible thing that a man lost his life, but, as it’s been said before, there are only 2 people who know exactly what happened and unfortunately, one is dead. Neither I nor anyone (who was not on the jury) can assume that they know what happened and what the verdict should be, and when it comes down to it, reasonable doubt is very often the deciding factor.

So Paula Deen loses most of her means empire for saying the ‘N’ word 20 years ago in anger, talking about a guy who robbed her, and then a black girl on the stand says ‘creapy #&# cracker’ and wants us to believe that it’s not racist at all – it’s just a cultural thing and that’s how she and her friends talk normally. And this society is fair and balanced????

I cry foul!

Nidal Hasan, the Ft. Hood murderer (not alleged, in my opinion), acting in his own defense wants to use the ‘defense of others’ as his defense strategy. Hasan has said he shot U.S. soldiers on the Texas Army post to protect Taliban leaders in Afghanistan.

This is totally ridiculous. He should be convicted immediately for even trying to use that defense strategy.

But maybe that’s just me – maybe it’s just MY opinion…..

p.s. – the beard thing – he demanded that, for religious reasons, he should be allowed to grow his beard, which added months of delay???
It didn’t bother his religious beliefs to NOT have the beard while he served in the military!
